T2 Sleep Tight – Mellow & Soothing

T2-LogoBrand: T2

Flavour: Sleep Tight

Ingredients: Floral, lavender, mint, lemon

Caffeine Factor: Caffeine-free

Organic Ingredients: 100%

Price Range: £7.50

Cups Per Box: 40 (approx.)

Review: What the heck is ‘floral’? That’s not an ingredient! What are they trying to pull?

Anyway. The smell is very soothing and mellow, likely from the lavender. Looking into the cup, the water is a lovely golden colour that makes you want to drink it.

The taste is much softer and more pleasant than some night-time blends. The ‘floral’ is not too intense, thankfully. You can’t specifically taste the mint or lemon, but we expect they’re but tempering the lavender so you don’t feel like a garden exploded in your mouth.

We like this one. It’s so relaxing, and every sip just makes you want more. Definitely worth the money! And remember, you can re-brew to make that box last a few months. Just be sure not to let the drink go gold. THEN it tastes soapy – bleh!

T2 Sweet Dreams – Too Substantial for a Bedtime Tea

T2-LogoBrand: T2

Flavour: Sweet Dreams

Ingredients: Chamomile, silver lime flower, apple, blackberry leaves, chicory root, rose petals, lavender, rosemary, pink cornflower, flavour

Caffeine Factor: Caffeine-free

Organic Ingredients: 100%

Price Range: £7.50

Cups Per Box: 40 (approx.)

Review: The aroma of this blend is one of chamomile and flowers. It’s soothing and pretty, though a little like being punched in the face with potpourri.

But don’t mistake this tea as light and delicate: tastes much heavier than it smells. It’s warming and substantial, almost like you’re eating something rather than having a drink. We can’t imagine having this at bedtime – it fills you up like a pudding after a big meal!

Ginger Tea liked it, but Three Tulsi found it a bit soap and sweet, so it all depends on your taste. Just remember that, if you take the plunge and buy a box, you’ll probably be re-brewing to make it last months – so you really have to like the flavour. We recommend you taste-test it in the shop, first.

T2 Nighty Night – We’ll Drink It if We Have To

T2-LogoBrand: T2

Flavour: Nighty Night

Ingredients: Lemonbalm, peppermint leaf, strawberry leaves, blackberry leaves, St John’s Wort, chamomile, heather flower, red rose petals, lavender

Caffeine Factor: Caffeine-free

Organic Ingredients: 100%

Price Range: £7.50

Cups Per Box: 40 (approx.)

Review: The smell is strongly floral and ‘planty’, like grass and perfume in one. The taste is sort of similar – bitter, but with a soapy aftertaste (presumably from the lavender).

Three Tulsi really didn’t like this one, while Ginger Tea thought it was okay – but with the proviso that it’s not much different from standard off-the-shelf night-time teas you can buy at a fraction of the cost.

All in all, this is an ‘I’ll drink it if it’s there’ tea, but not something you would go out of your way to brew.

T2 Red Green Vanilla – Just Disgusting

T2-LogoBrand: T2

Flavour: Red Green Vanilla

Ingredients: Green rooibos, flavouring

Caffeine Factor: Caffeine-free

Organic Ingredients: 100%

Price Range: £7.50

Cups Per Box: 40 (approx.)

Review: Only two ingredients – one is green rooibos, and the other is…flavouring.  As you would expect, the smell is terrible – like sickly sweet fake vanilla.  The taste is disgusting, too.  It’s really bitter, with disgusting vanilla flavouring and…well, just about everything about this drink is disgusting.  And it makes your mouth water – and not in a good way.  It’s so dehydrating.  Blech!  There is nothing about this that’s good.  AVOID.

T2 Detox – Like Drinking Glue

T2-LogoBrand: T2

Flavour: Detox

Ingredients: Fennel, juniper berries, stinging nettle, sweet blackberry leaves, lemongrass, calendula, liquorice root, spearmint, rose buds

Caffeine Factor: Caffeine-free

Organic Ingredients: 100%

Price Range: £7.50

Cups Per Box: 40 (approx.)

Review: It smells like kiddie glue – you know, the paste you get in school that the weird kids try to eat, but everyone else knows you shouldn’t.  Maybe that’s a sign that you shouldn’t ingest this tea, either.

There is a strange grainy texture to this one, when you drink it.  Otherwise, it’s fairly watery – though it leaves a strange coating on your tongue afterwards.  We expect that’s the glue.

The actual flavour is a bit like paper, with a faint nettle aftertaste.  We have no idea why there are so many ingredients in this blend, if you can’t actually taste them.  And after somehow swallowing a whole cup of it, we were left dehydrated.

We decided that while this infusion might be good for your stomach, it’s definitely not good for your mouth.  AVOID.

T2 Tummy Tea – Just VILE!

T2-LogoBrand: T2

Flavour: Tummy Tea

Ingredients: Peppermint, liquorice root, fennel, calendula

Caffeine Factor: Caffeine-free

Organic Ingredients: 100%

Price Range: £7.50

Cups Per Box: 40 (approx.)

Review: Another one that smells like disinfectant for your toilet – absolutely disgusting in your nose.

And the taste – goodness!  That initial sip is so sweet!  It then fills your mouth with minty coolness…before shocking you with one of the most vile flavours imaginable – a bit like Dr Stuart’s Liver Detox, but without the initial bitter kick.

There is also a strong after-taste that is reminiscent of nettle – presumably from the calendula, an ingredient that is wonderful for treating baby eczema, but we’re not sure you want to drink it!  And even after several drinks of water, it’s hard to get the taste out of your mouth.

We dislike this one greatly, and recommend you steer clear, too.

T2 Mint Mix – Like Drinking Shampoo

T2-LogoBrand: T2

Flavour: Mint Mix

Ingredients: Peppermint, spearmint, lemon verbena

Caffeine Factor: Caffeine-free

Organic Ingredients: 100%

Price Range: £7.50

Cups Per Box: 40 (approx.)

Review: As you would expect, this one smells strongly of lemon sweets and menthol – in a bad way.  It’s pretty disgusting.

On drinking it, we couldn’t understand the inclusion of lemon in a mint drink.  Yes, in food, you might get such a combination…but with real lemons, not lemon verbena!  All it does is make the mint taste slightly bitter and leave a tacky feeling in your mouth.

The experience of drinking this tea is like drinking shampoo – it’s a soapy feeling, not refreshing at all.  Despite that, we don’t necessarily hate it…we just think there are far better options out there.
